Christmas Is A Comin'....

....and so are those classic Christmas movies!  YAY!!

I've been watching some of the Hallmark channel Christmas movies over the last few weeks, but am so excited that the cool classic movies are hitting the airwaves!  And yes, I do have most of them on DVD, but it requires effort to find the movie in the crate, load it into the DVD player, rush back to the sofa and push "play".  It's much easier to turn on the TV from across the room and immediately have what I want to see right in front of me!

Sunday night was a special treat...a Sam Elliott Christmas movie....horrible movie, but classic Sam Elliott! :-) I would have cried if he yelled at me....8-year-old girl or not!

Fortunately, if you read my blog, you will get to endure enjoy some of my favorite Christmas movie quotes during this Christmas season.  Aren't you excited??!!

Here's your first one...for funsies!  Name the movie and share another quote from the movie.

"Yeah, you surprised?"
"Surprised _____?  If I woke up tomorrow with my head sewn to the carpet, I wouldn't be more surprised than I am right now."

Later in the month, there will be a small giveaway if you want to play my silly CQ games!!   :-)

It's the most wonderful time of the year...the goose is getting fat and so am I!!

  1. Let the games begin! National Lampoon Christmas Vacation - Clark in the same flick cracks me up with... "Can I refill your eggnog for you? Get you something to eat? Drive you out to the middle of nowhere, leave you for dead? Cousin Eddie: No. I'm doing just fine, Clark."

    1. LOL…I love it and I almost used that quote!! We went to see this movie in the theater last night and there were lots of small children there. I think the parents have gotten so used to seeing it on TV (edited) that they forgot about the almost nudity and foul language. Needless to say, those kids learned a few things! The hubster and I have nicknames for each other…his nickname for me came from this movie…Margo, Clark’s next door neighbor. I call him Dennis – a character from “Monty Python and the Holy Grail”. So there’s a fun fact for the day! :-)

  2. I'm with you on watching them on TV instead of the DVD player. Looking forward to all the xmas movies. By the way, the new movie: Love, The Millers, has the most wonderful "movie house" in it that I am predicting will be a Blogland favorite real soon.

    1. It makes life easier when you don't have to fool with a DVD player. I'm looking forward to seeing the movie and to seeing the room you told me about!

  3. I don't watch many movies, so pardon me if I'm the awkward party guest here who says something dumb. This morning on my way to work, the radio announcer that I listen to was saying that Johnny Galecki from The Big Bang Theory played Rusty in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, and I think he was also in Prancer??? Yeah, you probably all knew that already......haha.

    1. I love Aunt Bethany. She was the voice of Betty Boop back in the day….she still sounded like her even as she aged. The old man who plays her husband used to play on the show “Wings”…he was one of the annoying old men. I think he was born old.

Love that quote also….there are just so many…and Cousin Eddie….omgosh…keeps us laughing!! Hugs to you!!

    1. I love Christmas movies and we tend to watch them all year round....just depends on which one it is. A Christmas Story is the best!!! I loved Darren McGavin as Kolchak in Night Stalker (or something like that). I can give you hints if you need them! :-)

  12. Hi Benita,
I can't get enough Christmas...you know me...movies, TV specials, Singing Christmas shows...bring them all on...I am driving the husband crazy right now with my ever growing list of things he has to record for me! ;) The Dolly Parton movie is coming on soon...can't wait to see that one! And the Hallmark Channel...I am glued to that too! Love Christmas Vacation!! And one of my other favorites is Elf! Weird sense of humor I know...that's how I roll! ;)
    Happy Wednesday friend! Hugs, Kimberley

And I’m driving the hubster nuts with the Hallmark Channel also….he’s hoping it gets struck by lightning or something…anything to make the sappy Christmas movies go away. And when you had that to Lifetime and ABC Family….it’s a virtual smorgasbord of Christmas movies. YES to the musicals….love hearing the Christmas music also! Much love and hugs to you sweet friend!!
