Small Changes...

....will be taking place around the blog over the next few weeks.

In the past, I've been responding to comments via email and posting them on my blog.  From now on, to save a little time, I will only be responding via email and not posting my responses on the blog.  If you show up as a "no-reply comment blogger", then your response will have to be posted on the blog.  I enjoy our conversations and don't want to miss out on any of them.  I may eventually change over to Google comments, but for now, I will give this a try.

I will also be changing the way things look around here....not too much, just a few tweaks here and there! :-)  Happy Saturday!

  1. Read down through several of your posts! Trying to get caught up with some blog reading today. I just started a new seasonal job, so I can identify with trying to find balance in blogging and life! I'm glad you will not be closing yours! I really enjoy it! Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving! :) ~Rhonda

  2. Ha ha love this Benita!!! Yep I only respond through email and on occassion if someone asks a question if they are no reply I will go back and leave a comment on the post hoping they will see it. It is so easy to change from no reply so not sure why everyone does not do it. Have a great Thanksgiving.

  3. Oh Hon!!! Why oh why, do bloggers think, they have to "respond" to every comment??? Why? Why? Why/ Why? Why? Why? Why?

We can simply "respond" to comments in our blog, by reading/commenting in, the blogs of our commenters.

If a question is asked, answer it, by email.

If a blogger is no-reply-blogger, that's their problem. (sorry, but there have been enough gripes about no-reply-bloggers, for them to have checked their settings, by now.)

Please ladies, don't use the blogger reply-in-comments. Who has the time, to go back and read a post again???? To find a reply there, to their comment???? Who??????

Every one has issues with how to do their blogging!!! First step... Simplify it. Do the above, please. Please. Betcha' you will be happy, with how this simple way, works out.

And I repeat, where did this "make a personal reply to every comment" come from????????? I have been blogging for longer than any of you, I bet. I began, way back when you had to get an Invite, from someone already blogging!!!! To make your own blog. And believe me, it has not been around, from the beginning.

    She who sezzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, too much.

  4. Ah no-reply...been there. Having defected to WordPress for a bit, I understand the dilemma. Unless you have a Blogger profile, your only choice is no-reply. Also, if you have a Google + profile, even after you fix it, you will revert to no-reply after 30-60 days. Of course, Google does not alert you to this. You just suddenly stop getting emails and have to go in and fix it again. Bummer. I say you have to do what suits you. It's your blog! :) Fun poem...what would Thanksgiving be without Charlie Brown and Snoopy!!

  5. I reply as often as I can but have given up on No Reply comments. I want blogging to be a two way conversation but it can take over your life. I say no worries...

  6. Hard to know when a reply is needed. Sometimes people (myself included) just leave a note to let you know they stopped by or just add their 2 cents. Other times, if there's a question or the like, it appears a response is desired. I try to do my best to tell the difference but probably err often. Also, Blogger is unreliable and I've been told I some times show up as a "no-reply" blogger even though that's not the way I have myself set up.

  7. I really hope you do not go to Google comments! For some reason I cannot comment on those at all. Also, I do not reply to comments on my blog because people would have to come back to see it....I don't think that is likely. I think there is a way to reply on the blog and it goes to their email, but not sure. Love your Peanuts poem! I saw the movie a couple weeks ago with my granddaughter...it is cute.

  9. Hi Benita,
Reading through some of the comments - I don't think that bloggers who are on Blogger understand why bloggers on Wordpress have such a difficult time trying to 'Not Be' no reply bloggers...it all seems very complicated when some of us are on Blogger, some of us are on Wordpress, others Typepad and so on...and not everyone is on Google +...and some people replying don't have blogs at all...
I reply to comments on my blog only, I had the comment section modified so that there is a drop down menu and the commenter has the option of getting an email reply to their comment/an email reply to any comment/or no reply...I do understand that commenters are not always going to check back to my blog to see if I commented...but this is how I do it after a blog design company told me that 'legally' a commenter has to agree to getting an email reply, it couldn't be unsolicited...
I would say that anything you can do to save yourself some time is a good thing...this way I still get to read your posts, so win-win! :)
Loved the Snoopy poem, very cute!
I can't wait to see your tweaks! :)
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!
    Big hugs!!

  13. Do whatever works for YOU! We could spend months just trying to research and tweak our technology and social media accounts. Instead, we can spend our time enjoying our blogging and doing the best we can at the time. The way I see it, I will never, ever be up-to-date on the newest, most efficient bell or whistle...so I'm just happy with the simple knowledge that I learn a little more all the time ;)

  14. I had to stop answering everyone's comments as well. I felt awful, but I just couldn't keep up, so if it's a blogger I just visit them, unless they have a question and I'll email. The no reply and non-blogger commenters get answered on the blog. The worst part is when I don't have the time to even do that and I feel guilty.

    You're not alone, love.
