Eye Candy...

Everyone loves some "eye candy".  And no, I'm not talking about some buffy, beefy 30-year-old guy with his shirt off and his pants half unzipped giving me a peek at his Calvin Klein undies.....sporting a nice tan, a dimpled chin, a cowboy hat....wait, I'm getting totally distracted...sheesh.  Someone remind me to write a letter to somebody in charge to tell them how offensive these photos are on the internet!

Since it has been a crazy week over here (did you notice I never did get back to a "real" post yesterday), I've decided to share a few pieces of eye candy that I received in an email from BHG.  Don't you just love their emails??!  There is always something beautiful and inspiring to see in those emails!

Shut the front door....or any door really.  How incredibly creative to use a door to section off and disguise a closet in a small space!

What a great idea for a beverage bucket at a party -- an old baby carriage frame with a metal tub to hold the drinks!  Of course, I would make the hubster push me around in the yard before we could put the ice and drinks in it!

I can't even begin to tell you how much I love this porch decor.....so colorful, light, airy and just plain cozy...

When I'm out thrifting, flea marketing or antiquing, I always pick up old letters and postcards.  I could sit for hours reading what people have written to each other in days gone by.  This display for old cards and letters is just too stinkin' cute!

And for those of you who are crafty and have craft supplies (not me, I burned them all), how about using vintage suitcases to store those items?

This living room is such a wonderful mix of elegance and vintage, chippy pieces.  Who wouldn't want to sit here all day and relax?

Another beautiful, peaceful porch area...

I don't know about you, but all of this "eye candy" has made me want to start redecorating a few things.  The hubster is cringing because I mistakenly said this out loud! :-)  But I'm definitely pinning it all so that I can take another peek!

    1. Yes, you do need to sign up! Great things delivered as often as you want them…I’ve been receiving these for years and love them. They also have a great recipe email. LOL @ skipping beefcake photo…I hear you…I loved all the other photos so much, but not that one. I told Edward it was hard looking up those things because I am soooo not interested….but, I will drool over décor and restyling images all day long! :-D

  5. All of those are Ahhhh-mazing, Benita! I love the color of the coffee table in the last photo, and that antique frame is calling my name! But what I am really swooning over is the wicker rocking chair and bright summer colors, those have to be my absolute favorites! Thanks for the eye candy this morning! Jump started my day! hugs, Christine

    1. Christine, I just fell in love with all of them also and that’s why I had to include them all…I just couldn’t pick one favorite. The colors that are in that photo with the little wicker chair are so wonderful…I just love them. Reminds of sunshine and lemonade and watermelon and lightning bugs and picnic and all things summer – except in the75 degree temperature range…LOL! :-) You are so welcome…have a wonderful day! Hugs!!

  6. You are cracking me up today!!

The picture of the wicker furniture with the blue chest is on the front of Country Home from last fall. You know how they put out those special edition big fat expensive magazines? Yes, that one. :) It's on my coffee table and stops me in my tracks all the time. I love the mix of colors in that picture!

Hope you have a great weekend. We are off to the country with the bugs.

  7. Liars. Liars!! L-I-A-R-S!!!! "I don't like the picture of the yucky manboy..." Benita says this post is already on the all-time popular list, and I presume it's the prodigious use of pastels in the décor that has drawn the crowd???

We see through you, ladies :-)

  8. Loving that door hiding a closet/dressing area. I would have to put hooks on the door to hold jackets and such.

    1. I love that door also…I thought it was the neatest idea. You get a darling architectural piece that is quite functional. And that’s a good idea to put hooks on it!

Cute spaces though. I love me some color ;)

  15. Totally offensive but totally delicious!

Now, to your other eye candy…I love that porch, and the sunroom and the quaint beverage server! I too buy old letters and old photographs. I bought a collection of a young Kentucky boy's letters home while in basic training during WW II. And I bought decades worth of diaries of a man who worked in DC beginning in the end of WWII through the 60s--fascinating!

Just think of what you'll do when all the pent up creativity is unleashed when you move to your own place! I can't wait to see that!

    1. LOL…you are so funny! All of these project strike a spot with me in some way or another, be it the colors, the style, the accessories or repurposing. Reading all of the old correspondence fascinates me so much. I try to imagine what they were doing when they wrote their letters, who the person was like that they were sending them to, what was going on around them, etc. My imagination runs away with me sometimes…LOL.

We are looking forward to our own space, that’s for sure….where we can at least paint the walls if we want! :-)
